You have the ability to run both as demonstrated the last year, why not LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS and offer both? There's plenty of buyers who feel legacy is MUCH MORE EFFICIENT & EASIER TO USE. The new system is not better, it is changed simply for sake of change -- just because it looks newer, does not make it better.
Completely agree with the comment. This "upgrade" is an atrocity. Like you said, whomever designed it obviously has never bought cars. My particular favorite is when you click on the pictures of the vehicle to view them all. The legacy screen would allow you to scroll and look at them quickly, the new version makes you click 40 times. Whomever did that single feature right there should not be allowed in the building. I could go on for pages on how bad the new site is.
I understand the new initiatives, while they are not life or death necessary, they may be cool -- but you and others at SmartAuction that I have spoken to are missing the point. The new platform is not good -- it is horribly inefficient compared to the old one. The new ideas are great, but the platform itself should be set up similar to the old style. During normal times, I have been a volume buyer -- it takes me literally 5-10 times longer to accomplish the same things as I did on the legacy. Buying cars is not my primary job, I run multiple businesses and do not have time to waste on an inefficient system. The technology may be right, but the layout, the visual and functionality is not. I know everyone has their own opinions, but would definitely be fine living without the new features you mentioned if I could have my old functionality back. The system was obviously not designed by someone who buys cars every day and needs to buy in volume.
